Janey’s Story

Janey is 4 years old, she lives with her parents and older siblings and has been diagnosed with Autism in 2019. Janey was referred to Social Work who then contacted Kingdom Support & Care for support, to work in partnership with Janey due to high levels of self injurious behaviour.

As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Team we had a 12 week window of intensive support funding. The PBS team created documents that would be working documents and shared amongst all the healthcare professionals involved in the crisis package. These documents consist of Person Specific, Proactive and Positive, Support Plan (PPSP), Autism Profile, Working With Me Document, CALM techniques. As a team we focused on a range of areas which included communication and approaches for self-regulation for anxiety.

The impact of this intense support has reduced self injurious behaviour and reduced a lot of the anxieties that Janey faced when leaving the home environment. Janey is now more settled at the nursery and is having a more fruitful and enjoyable day.
