Wish it could be Christmas every day

Around 100 supported individuals and Kingdom Support and Care (KSC) staff wished it could be Christmas every day after celebrating the festive season in style at the Parkgate Community Centre in Rosyth.

The event brought together people from across our services, from Dunfermline to Dunipace and from Cairneyhill to Cupar.

Although Santa wasn’t able to attend in person, he sent his deputy, Ali McKenzie, to share gifts with the individuals KSC supports.  In his day job, Ali is a Senior Support Worker in KSC’s Rosyth service.

The event was organised by:

  • Lee Herd, our Recruitment and Staff Development Coordinator
  • Janet Hyslop, an Administrative Officer in our Business Support Team
  • Sarah Paterson, a Senior Support Worker in our Dunipace service
  • Bernadette Smith, our Quality Improvement Coordinator

Looking back on the event, Bernadette said:

“Our Christmas party aimed to highlight the joy we can get from being connected and together.  As well as fostering a sense of belonging and reducing isolation, our event provided a seasonal example of great support enabling great lives”.

Sharing her reflections at the end of the party, Janet said:

“I have helped out a few of our Christmas parties in the past.  I enjoy seeing first hand all the great work our staff do in supporting people to have a great life.  Seeing everyone from different services mixing and having fun is all the motivation you need to help out at events like this.”

Thanks to everyone who took part in a great night in Rosyth. Special thanks to our organising team – Bernadette, Janet, Lee and Sarah – and to Susan Sweeny, a Support Worker in our Dunipace service.  Susan captured some great images in her role as our official party photographer.
